benjaminarts 0 Posted September 19, 2007 My little model temporally lapsed into her own private world, as she was definitely thinking about something here. This gave me an opportunity to capture her as she really was. The photo was taken in the old Ft. Worth, Texas stockyards in the area of the wooden stalls and runways. Over the years millions of livestock move through here to their final fate. It is now unused and is kept as a historical part of Cow Town. Link to comment
joseph_calvo 0 Posted September 19, 2007 This is a very nice photo. The composition is pretty good and the model's expression is perfect; but I do think you have altered the piece to much digitally. I would like to see the original picture in comparison. Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted September 19, 2007 I too would like to see the original. This processed version seems to have a thin white line that runs under her arms and under her belly that I find disconcerting. I think my eye wants to see those lines darker - like shadows perhaps. This is a lovely composition! Link to comment
benjaminarts 0 Posted September 19, 2007 I do sometimes experiment with my images looking for unique and hopefully powerful results. Sometimes it works dramatically and sometimes this achieves little to nothing. I guess the jury is still out on this one. I have looked and looked here at my office for the original file with this image and also the zip disc where I kept the changes. The original CD with all of the stored images must be at home. I will look for it tonight. I did find an image here at the office on a zip disc that was taken right before this one. It shows the wooden structure of the stockyards, which of course became the setting for these images. Out of respect for your interest and questions I will follow up and add the original "Golden Girl" image for a close comparison and explain what I did as well. You might find this cute...my name for the model in my other images was "Miss Sunshine". As you can see she was radiant. Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted September 19, 2007 The little Miss Sunshine is wonderful! If the original of this one is as good I would be inclined to do NO PP on it! It's an excellent image! Now I am really curious to see the original of this one! Nice work! Link to comment
benjaminarts 0 Posted September 21, 2007 Jan, one other image here sense you like the little radiant one. By the way I enjoyed viewing your work. So diverse, fun and beautiful. Good eye for design too. I don't recognize those butterflies. They aren't Texas butterflies. If you don't mind revealing, where do you live? Link to comment
benjaminarts 0 Posted September 21, 2007 A ray of light in the catacombs of the stockyards. When you think of all of the slaughter that took place there (they say that the blood was ankle deep in the slaughter room), it is good that the place is at peace now. If all that wood could cry out it would applauded the beauty and fullness of life found with this child. Link to comment
