...why you might not get it. Here's the deal:

One evening toward the end of June I was at work when I had a really scarry thing happen to me. Out of nowhere I felt myself having trouble focusing on what I was looking at. I went to a mirror to look at my eyes and found that it was as if I couldn't see my pupils. I went to my desk, sat down and, trying to remain calm, tried to figure out what was going on. Looking at my computer screen I noticed that whatever I looked directly at seemed to be unreadable. Experementing with covering my eyes one at at time I realized that I had a blind spot just to the left of center in both eyes. I found that if I covered either eye and looked at the number "2" on my telephone keypad the number "1" would disappear. About this time I started thinking I was having a stroke and was somewhat overwhelmed by anxiety.

When I saw a doctor about it one possible diagnosis (the scariest one) was a TIA - Transient Ischemic Attack, or "mini stroke".

I made this image the next day just to try to get the whole thing out of my system. It got posted here while I was reading a lot of posts on photo.net re. digital imaging and "what constitutes a photograph".

In the end, after an Opthomologist exam, and a CAT scan, the diagnosis is that it may have been a wierd eye thing called an "accomodative spasm", or more likely, an "atypical migraine" - a migraine without the headache.

Anyway, that's what this is all about.
