Interesting use of the Rule of Thirds, then breaking the rules with a slice right across the middle.

What is it a gate to? There doesn't seem to be anywhere to go once we reach the water. Though there is land on the other side, there is no clear way to reach it. Or.. Is our perspective here skewed and what we see as elongated faces are simply due to forced perspective? That would make the tree in the center a bridge...

The people along the bottom, especially the ones in the chin of the face on the right, are distracting, I think. But this photo is very interesting with the questions it poses thematically, and also in how it uses the various photography rules of thumb while simultaneously thumbing its nose at them.
