duncan speirs 0 Posted September 15, 2007 You managed to keep the background clear in this shot,Colours seem a little flat, might benefit from a mono conversion and a boost of contast Cheers Duncan Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted September 15, 2007 I can see that the light was a little flat as per Duncan`s comments, but I kind of like the "Dawn Patrol" feel it imparts on a shot of this subject matter. Nice shot. Link to comment
alex_kew 0 Posted September 16, 2007 The light wasn't good when this was taken. Used an ND grad to try and help the sky, but still came out too bright. Tweaked in PSP XI to balance the light. Agree it came out a bit flat, but I like position of it - facing out towards the airfield, as Peter says reminiscent of 'Dawn Patrol'. Made especially so by the clear bg, usually a clutter of parked up Cessnas etc.Cheers,Alex Link to comment
shacknav 0 Posted September 16, 2007 Watery sun looks just right, wash out the buildings on right horizon to complete the effect. Nice atmospheric pic. Cheers....Pat. Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted September 17, 2007 You mean its possible to take a photo of an airplane in the last 50 years WITHOUT a Cessna somewhere in there?! :) I meant to ask, is that a replica or a restored original? From this angle it looks very authentic. Link to comment
alex_kew 0 Posted September 17, 2007 It's a replica, and quite a recent one too.... http://www.greatwardisplayteam.co.uk/fokker_triplane.htm Alex Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted September 18, 2007 Thanks Alex - that's a cool link. Even though my heart thoroughly belongs to WWII warbirds, every time I see these WWI airplanes at an airshow I find the thoroughly captivating. Not to mention, their speeds are usually more in line with my photographic skills:) And then I scare myself thinking about how huge one's balls would have to be to go to war in one of these!!!
