i've been trying to make a similar image for a while now, without as much success. Do you recall your settings? Other than the mist in the trees, did you have fog/mist between you and the camera at all? What focal length?

Steve: I don't remember, nor did I record, my exposure settings. It was about 7 am, I recall. I think the fog stands out so much because of it's bluish hue. There was fog between me and the scene but not much - a thin fog. As the effect is additive it seems thicker at greater distance.

This is the kind of "graphic-nature" shots that I like.Nice composition and fine colours.
