Starfish on Coral

ted_losey

I took this picture with my Canon EOS A2E and Sigma 50mm f2.8 macro lens in a Kenko/Delphinus underwater housing. I exposed it on Fuji Sensia 100 slide film and scanned the image with my Canoscan FS-2710 scanner.

Mmh, I take back my first comment.

I added that one when seeing this photo in the underwater critique forum. But with the 1330 * 900 pixels I couldn't see the entire picture on my screen at once. The thumbnail gives a better view. Nice!

This is a wonderfully composed photo, but you do yourself a disservice by not reducing it to fit on the viewer's screen when seen in the large format. I love to see the detail in the larger format, but than I lose the composition by needing to scroll down and across the screen.

You have exposure and focus right on the money and the contrasting colors are wonderful. If you reload this photo I think you will get some great ratings.

Thanks for sharing. By the way, where did you take this?

Your nice images is a bit large for viewing on my 19" monitor set at 1280 x 1024 resolution. I have noticed that large images are seldom rated very highly - people don't take the trouble to view them. You might want to resize.

This is a well composed shot. It would have been a little better if the starfish had been in the old "rule of thirds" positition. Great color contrast.
