cfreemanphotography 0 Posted September 8, 2007 Let me revise that statement. This was my first serious attempt at astro photography. The first "attempt" was just taken off of the back porch to get an idea of how long I could go before noise destroyed the pic. Thanks for the comment :D Chris Link to comment
tzalavras 0 Posted September 8, 2007 Very nice result. I'd like to hear more on the how thought... Regards. Link to comment
alpenglow 0 Posted September 8, 2007 Really nice start. Aimed a bit higher and you would have been able to get Polaris as the center of the "wheel". Mike Link to comment
h.halliwell 0 Posted September 13, 2007 Beautiful colours, impressive foreground and a superb composition. Well done! Link to comment
cfreemanphotography 0 Posted September 20, 2007 This is a composite of two images. For the first exposure (at sunset) I black carded the sky for most of the exposure. In the second exposure (15 min star trail), I black carded the land. This allowed me to easily merge the two frames and avoid unnecessary edge noise. On film, the same effect could be achieved my exposing the same frame twice. Right now I have some ideas bouncing around in my head. They would REQUIRE the use of film (kinda) and would be somewhat along these lines, only much, much more intense. Link to comment
cfreemanphotography 0 Posted November 1, 2007 Wow. I just looked at the ratings. If you're going to give the picture a 3, at least have the balls to stand behind your rating. How about you get out in the field and practice, rather than bombing everyone else's successes. Link to comment
