HDR composite of a Hawker Hurricane taken at a recent open house of

the Vintage Wings collection at the Gatineau Airport near Ottawa. It's

hard to get shots of these aircraft without dozens of spectators so I

went for a low angle to try and cut out clutter. Any comments appreciated.

Very vivid color! Very original treatment for such a shot. Including the sun and all the rays are what make this truly great to me. Thanks for sharing this!

I am the only one whom this strikes as incredibly tacky? The "sun" taken from a cheap Chritmas card (I could just see the Three Wise Men following that thing across the desert in a childrens Nativity story), weird colours, strange halo around the whole airplane where the attempt at blending in the 2000 flushes coloured sky with the airplane failed miserably... And what is that thing on the wing? Looks like a discarded hairnet or something...

Then again, this is just not my thing - perhaps I just don`t "get it" as my primary interest is in photography...

Over processing results in detracting from the overall effect. Try toning it down, especially the very 'fake' sun, and ditch the halo and excresence on the wing. No experience with HDR techniques and would suggest that good old PS may produce a better result. Regards.... Pat.

Whilst i like the idea to for an HDR to maintain details in the highs and lows, this looks too over processed to me. Great composition though.

Okay, so it sounds like not too many people are fond of the processing, as I was. The way I see it this was not meant to appear natural...obviously. Not many HDR photos do look natural. I see this for a good composition and what I still believe is an original treatment for such a photo...not meant to look like the others. Its almost abstract. I still stand by what I said, and appreciate what you've done, Peter.
