stp 6 Posted September 5, 2007 I like it - nicely done. The two-color aspect appeals to me: blue in the shutters and nightgown, beige in the drapes and building. Link to comment
lex_photo 0 Posted September 5, 2007 Thanks, I liked that too. It looked peaceful to me. Thanks again - Lex Link to comment

carnelli 0 Posted November 29, 2007 A favorite in your Italy folder, muted tones and the large window/curtains create a story of visual interest.....cheers.....Tye. Link to comment
lex_photo 0 Posted November 29, 2007 Thank you Tye. I loved this building. It looks over the center square in the middle of town and just seemed to have so much character. I'm sure that this building has seen a lot over the years. Thanks again - Lex Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted December 21, 2007 Very well framed Alexa and the epitomy of what I think a building in Europe would look like, a grand window with someone gazing out on the street. This is such a classic scene, it could be a hundred years old for all I know. I think a B&W conversion would also work very well, it would give it that timeless quality I already see in this image. lex_photo 0 Posted December 31, 2007 Hi Susan, Thanks for your very kind comments. I tried a black and white version and I'll up load it here. Thanks again - Lex Link to comment
sketch_tbhotmail.com 11 Posted January 14, 2008 Wow Lex, the black and white version looks like its pure gold. I've seen some duotone conversions that make the greys look more like cream and I think this would really be a great candidate for it. I think the composition here is what makes this photo so great with the amazing architecture framing such a humble looking person. Link to comment
lex_photo 0 Posted January 14, 2008 Again thanks Ryan. I hadn't thought of that possibility for this photo. That sounds exciting. I'll definitely have to give it a shot. I took this while waiting for the start of our opening ceremonies for a conference in Perugia. It started over two hours late. So in order to keep myself entertained, I took many photos of the square from my seat. This women and another kept coming to the window to see what was happening. This and a couple of other photos made the wait worth it. Thanks again - Lex Link to comment
ed dertinger 0 Posted February 20, 2008 Excellent Image. Photos of this type add a lot to travel photography. The woman looking out the window adds much - a nice human touch that gives a feel of an Old World Europe/slower paced lifestyle. For what it is worth, I don't I agree with others about a monochrome conversion. I think the subtle colors in the original add much and the monochrome version seems to be lacking in enough contrast to really make it an equally strong rendition. Link to comment
lex_photo 0 Posted February 25, 2008 Thanks Ed, I really like both. The muted colors are what drew me to take the photo, but I think maybe muting them a bit more might draw more people to it. Either way, I love this photo and thanks for commenting!- Lex Link to comment
