I actually like the color version better (just a color junkie, I guess) but the B&W version really shows how essential the wood 'structure' is to the composition.

Either way, nice shot.

Ahh, geez, this turned out really well, Dave! What a composition; rustic, old west feel. Excellent B&W conversion. Nice work, my friend. A 6/6 anonymously. I'm down in southern Arizona for a few more days (Saguaro NP, Tumacacori Natl. Mon., Buenos Aires NWR, etc.) Cheers! Chris

Dave, to close the loop here; what makes this really work for me is the contrasty nature of it. This really pops. Good blacks and whites; that's usually really important for a B&W image (color images too). A 'Levels' adjustment is always one of my first adjustments after cropping and sizing. Great job on this image, Dave. I like it a lot! Cheers! Chris

Dave,

I like this conversion, it really highlights the composition and the texture on the fence. Nice job!

Best regards,

Tammy
