Contrast is good for the b&w shot. however because of the similarities in the blackish color of the wooden poles/ tree trunks with the rocks in the foreground, makes it rather difficult to clearly differentiate from each other. I feel, the charred trunks are possibly most dominating and attractive compositional elements in this picture, and should look more dominant , and obtaining rather correct (softer?) contrast and probably rather in slightly low angle light might be better for this picture.
