Painted Hills, John Day Fossil Beds

I have always been drawn toward flat light compositions, where the

dynamism of an image relies entirely on subtle color differences and

the shape of the subjects. This was one of the first "serious" images

I ever made, taken in late August 1999, in a pouring early-morning rain.

Very cool shot. The composition is such that it keeps my eye flowing through the image- well done. I like the subtle changes in color that give the image its depth.
