Maui Girl (cropped)

This is the cropped version, I think I like it more. Uncropped

version is in the folder. I didnt change anything in PS and was

mainly intrested in what peope thought of the pose and the way the

shadows are falling. But any other comments are welcome too.

I decided to mess with the color in this one a little bit too. Un-edited one sitill in folder.

Just ran across this one after I commented on the unedited one. This one is much more striking. Good choice in crop and brightness.

This shot was actualy just a test shot with the digital camera to make sure the lighting all looked OK. I took a few more with medium format color slide film which I like even more. Unfournatly I dont have a scanner :(

When I first saw this, I thought "great ANOTHER portrait..." I think the colors work though. The models complexion could have been cleaned up in photoshop!

I like the angle, as well as the way her pink skin and red dress contrast with the blue-white sky. While the shadow on her face works well, it gets harsher and more annoying on her neck. As Stephen mentioned, there is a complexion issue that I imagine might hamper its usefulness as a portfolio image.

 

Overall I like it, and I consider it much better than the uncropped, unmodified version.

Same as above said - i would also like to see more detail and possibly a catclight in her eyes - the way they are looks "dead" - a bounce should do it (or fill in if you`re a flash man).
