On camera flash and with an arena light behind subject. What do you

think of the result?

There's a bit of a sense that he's a cutout, too defined against the background. The backlight is a nice idea but could be put to better use. Being so localized as that line of light is under his ear doesn't make much sense visibly or emotionally to the shot. Perhaps some backlight coming through his hair would work. Overall the lighting level feels low. He's a beautiful child and I'd like more highlights on his face to bring this to life a bit.
