George - do I have to choose? (Its hard) Ok, well then, I'll take the B&W. I just like the simple, geometric, minimalistic look it has.

Thank you again.

A most respected critic told me: The B&W looks like jail and the color version looks like hope.

And you do not have to choose. Both are available in your choice of size in matte, gloss, or metallic.~

Your Eastman House fisheye, btw, is fantastic.

George - ok, I'll play along. I will agree that there is a warmth to the light that implies hope in a, perhaps, dismal place. However, the strength for me of the B&W is that absence of color makes it look almost other-worldly.

I think the color image could be strengthened slightly by removing the mildly distracting red lettering on panels at left.

Thank you for the compliment on my Eastman Fisheye.

When I first saw this photo, it made me feel calm, serene and hopeful. I was going to make comments regarding my reaction and then I read the other comments and find that other people had the same reaction....hopeful. What a gorgeous thing to photograph and be able to share with others...hope. I simply love this and it deserves POW. Cheers,Sharon

"When I first saw this photo, it made me feel..." Those words, your words, are music to my ears. Beautiful music. Thank you.

Beyond any technical consideration I must say that this photo has character, atmosphere, is suggestive and slightly mysterious, like a scene taken of an old movie where everything could happen. I mean, when a photo can provoke those feelings on the observer then the sense of photography is accomplished. A very good work George.

I'll choose the color version because the various patters on the wall, floor and inside the lift show up much better. Also because it looks less like a jail, but I'm not opposed to seeing jails...

Thank you Mr. Price.

Thank you Shawn. The colors bring out the textures. The color version gets a reaction of optimism and the b&w makes people see confinement. I have little doubt that you are familiar with both...:)

Cheers.

George, I follow intensively , and like a lot to observe the creation of shadows done by the light. this is a very good example of out/in light and its result. I like the colored one ,because it is better expressing the phenomenon. The wall form on the L , that has some hues of different colors( even a warm color as well), I like the texture and color of the floor. Many times I like light/shadow photos in color, like this one.
