twmeyer 0 Posted July 15, 2002 Your background doesn't help this image, which is a good moment in the small space of time it takes this move to happen. When I recently photographed in a couple of dojos, I had to find clean backgrounds where ever I could. Here's what I did, with one light in a 60" umbrella with a little fill from a nearby wall, that was painted the same off-white as the one behind these guys... t Link to comment
mike_sea 0 Posted July 25, 2002 Excellent movement captured here. Maybe a little more attention to the lighting would enhance this shot. It would be an interesting shot using a flash sync of 1/4000 s exposure in the dark or even a strobing flash in the dark Mike Sea Link to comment
ptn4egl 0 Posted July 27, 2002 Loose and static. And it looks like your main light source is behind the fighters faces. The leg does give a nice lineage with the wall though. Link to comment
liviu 0 Posted May 8, 2005 nice atmosphere. i like the expression of the Tori. the framework is somewhat disturbing for my taste. of course, depends of the intended use. for a demonstrative photo of o-soto-gari, this is the very end of the actual throw, I mean it is actually difficult to see this shot as a result of o soto gari at all. I "judge" this as an expression shot, a clean 6/6 :) Technically, there are many things to say. I am a judoka myself etc. Link to comment
