Tony, the best time for fall colors would be the week leading up to Canadian Thanksgiving. The parc closes after that (i.e. no more services and fees, it's a free for all ;) ). I'll be there during the long weekend of Thanksgiving - if you're planning on getting there, we can meet up!

Malbaie river canyon is home to the steepest cliffs east of the

Rockies in Canada. The approximate height is 1km. The river furrows

through the mountains making two wierd 90-degree turns before crashing

into the St-Laurent river. It's an extremely difficult place to take

photographs (IMO) despite it's natural beauty. Further compounded by

blocked access in the winter (you have to ski in 26kms to just get to

the entrance). Taken in fall in 2006.

Nice composition and colors, probably it will look much better on the large print than the web version.
