peter_yesley 0 Posted June 22, 2002 A tunnel leading to color. It is a neat idea. But color part of the image isn't really that colorful. It might have worked better if that color part of the image had a blue sky and the whole color region was more saturated. To get more range in color you might try taking several exposures at different shutter speeds. A fast shutter could expose for the sky and a slower one for the ground. Then by mixing the two different exposures you can regain the color in the sky, (assuming it wasn't a white sky on that day). Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 23, 2002 I rarely comment because there are SOOO many images on Photo.net. But I really liked your idea and execution. A very good photo. I do agree that it would have had even more impact had the color part been more saturated. But it looks like perhaps it was an overcast day? Any way, good job! Link to comment
detlef 6 Posted June 26, 2002 anything that varies from the usuall will attract the eye...this certainly attracted my eyes...perspective and placement of the bridge`s far side is very unsual...using colour to play up the fall colours is not as unsual but works very well in this monochrome image....very nice Link to comment
joshua_pollak 0 Posted June 30, 2002 I dunno... I think the image would have been more dynamic as a purely black and white image. Alternatively, If the color saturation gradually increased through the tunnel, from b&w to color, that might be exciting. That would enhance the feeling of a 'tunnel to spring'. I agree as well that the saturation of the color scene inside the tunnel should be boosted to make the color stronger, and the scene more dynamic. Also, its clear the B&W picture is also take during spring, you can see the leaves. It would be great to take another one during winter, with snow, and overlay the two! Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted July 28, 2002 I have a couple shots this idea would work well with, please explain to a novice how this mix of color and b&w is achieved. As always javed, you have a great one here. Link to comment
