Shot with two Canon 430EX Speedlights set on manual, Bogen 5573 Light stand, Interfit Light stand, Wescott 43" covered shoot through umbrella, Wescott 43" Soft Silver Umbrella, Three Pocket Wizards. Exposure was 1/20 sec. at f/11.

The background is too flat. Alas, this is the hazard of shooting at f/10 with flash during the day with the only backdrop available being the sky. Had I been thinking, I most likely would have dialed the power down on the flashes, and shot using more ambient light, but that would most likely had defeated the whole point of the shot, which was to use the speedlights as my key, and fill, completely ignoring the sun. One might say that the image would be much better with a full on black background, so as to not distract the eye of the viewer. But this as well is semantics. I came back with what I got, and what I got was good. This is not to say that a better version of this image will not someday grace this wonderful site...
