Project Warriors: Fun.

 

To be honest... Nicki took this shot with my Camera, but that is me

jumping this cliff... The water is just a little out of the frame at

the bottom. I just wanted to submit something this week.

I give it a thumbs down in the FUN area. You have NOW given me nightmares. OMG!

 

Now the other JUMPING in the water picture looked like a blast. THIS picture looks like you are jumping to your death. WELL there is NO water in the picture. OMG! YOUR DIEING. HA

Thanks Micki!!! LOL! I am a little nuts! LOL! Best part is... I am TERRIFIED of heights! LOL! On the way down, there was time to think how bad of an idea that was! I still went up and jumped a few more times though. Nicki did do a great job didn't she?

OMG...I'm with Micki on this one...I'm a bit afraid of heights as well! Nicki, well done on grabbing the shot...Darren, good job of ignoring your fear. Next time, though...could you include some pretty blue water? By the way...the shadow of you on the rock is my favorite part of this pic...that's just too cool! Oh, and did Nicki jump, too?

Yes, as a matter of fact, she joined us on the next trip up the cliff! (she messed up her knee when she hit the water though... If you look close, you can see I am wearing sandals to lessen the pain of impact on my feet)

 

The shadow was the reason In picked this one.... there is another cool one where I am half way into the water on impact, but I really liked that shadow.

I see you've been at the gorge! I got him from the top end! hahaha This is certainly fun!!! Good grab!! I love the shadow you got on the rock behind him! Mine isn't as good stop action though - got it with my point and shoot. I'll have togo back and get some better shots! I love this!

We love going there to do this... Most people just jump off the smaller ones (and you get kicked out for jumping off of these ones)

They don't call you Warrior for nothing!!! Very brave of you!!

You have to work in two groups - there's only one ranger making the rounds - while he's on one side of the gorge, the group on the other side jumps - then when he makes his way around to the second group - the other group jumps.

This is the shot of us playing to see who had to go first... I lost this time! LOL!

Nicki, great shot...the shadow and the feeling of scale is great and makes the shot.

Some would say standing at the side of a road photographing bikes racing at nearly 200mph is madness but I think I am now assured I am TOTALLY SANE...

When I saw this I said to myself, who is that MAD Fucke*...and I read on and discover its you...

I'm on a bad monitor so I'll only say what I can. Four great things about this shot:

 

1) The shadow rocks! (Pun intended!)

 

2)No water showing. Much better impact this way, IMO. That also breaks out of the standard mold for cliff jumping shots!

 

3) I can hear Nicki saying, "Sure honey, go ahead and jump off the 100ft cliff...just let me hold your camera first."

 

4) Love your duck imitation!

I was going to say "NO, DON'T JUMP!" but it was too late already. When I saw the guy falling, my stomach jumped with him... Oh that's insane. Too bad you couldn't hear the noises I made!

 

This reminds me of the stories my dad told me about himself... jumping into deep water-filled quarries!

The Guy who Keeps his feet on the ground and photographs motorbikes from the side of the road with no protection bar his camera

The Guy who jumps of a huge cliff with no protection and almost no clothes
