I would like to see a little more contrast but other than that I LOVE dirt, horses and a cowboy in B&W.

I think that you captured the mouth and the rider just fine in this. I understand angles and such but sometimes it is the mood of a picture and for me this picture works.

The color version makes me feel like I am looking at a whole bunch of white little spots with color around it. THIS one makes me see the horse and then the expression on the faces. NOW if you use a little more contrast I think you will bring out some more darkness in those faces and some more enotion and bank I think you have a FANTASTIC picture for this rider. SO, you got a place for that signature and a wonderful photo for him to have.

ALSO another thing you could do is B&W and color on this photo.

I've submitted the color version of this photo. I wanted to get some

feedback on this in B+W. I think the rider stands out a little better

in the B+W...what do you think? Thanks!

Micki,

Thank you for your comments! I went back and forth with the contrast on this and I think I may have to adjust my monitor because this seems like the stopping point. If I go any more it will blow out the white in his shirt and lose too much in the dark areas of the horse.

As for the angle, I was so focused on the rider that I didn't even notice the angle until afterwards. I think its just a little too far CW and the rest of it is from the angle I was shooting from. So you think that angle isn't a huge problem though? I'm sort of in between on that...can't decide.

I like the B+W better than the color also. Are there any thoughts on the crop? Should I bring the crop down to take away some of the crowd? I was thinking it would be a little too tight, but if the crowd distracts, maybe it would be better to crop some.

Thanks again!
