Apart from the Hasselblad lenses (whitch are Leitz as well of course) there is one lens better than the Summicron 50, it is the Summilux 50.

Ok, about the best lens ever it may be the Noctilux. But it only fits the M-system.

There is no best lens. Thinking this way keeps you from doing your best, or simply from doing what was need here: A low-contrast portrait film like NC should have handled this situation, take the time to carefully print/adjust the picture to avoid too dark foregrounds and a blown out sky.

I don't think these can be judged as long as we pass by things like scanners or Internet(jpg).
