I've had a busy afternoon today and have some shots I'm please with.

Here is one of them. I'm trying to use the camera as if it is loaded

with film and taking only one or two shots of each subject, and

hoping to capture what I've seen. I'm happy so far :)

I like to treat my digital the same way, it's easier then to use my film camera after:) For this image I would crop away the left end of the bench, but good job anyway!

Hi Janis. It's funny you should mention the bench - this is the first picture I took as I like the colour of the bench against the background, and it showed that the gentleman was there in a world of his own. But I also moved in closer to take the attached which I have just uploaded to my portfolio. I still like the one with the whole bench best :)) (at the moment anyway!)

Janis, I forgot to say - using the camera as if it were a film one really does make it easier to use film again and it focuses the mind on trying to capture the image rather than just taking 20 shots of the same thing and picking out the best. I also worry about the number of shutter actuations as well - I've got no money at the moment so can't afford to replace things!

I've had shutter breakage - in the middle of a session - cost me more than 200EUR for 300D. Not very nice thing... My suggestion was just the very end of the bench, but that's just my taste and would be another picture then. See attached.

Good luck hunting:)

Hi Janis - I like the loss of end of the bench. It makes it appear as if the bench could go on forever. Thanks for the thought.

I'm not looking forward to shutter breakage - my camera is a 10D that I bought used for ?250 with lens, spare battery, charger and case. I have no idea how many shots it has taken, or whether it has ever need repair. If it breaks then I'll cry, and then either fix it or get another! There are certainly no symptons of impending doom so I shall stay happy for now.

Kyle, many thanks for the comment on this picture. Sometimes when going around the streets, a scene just pops out at me, and this was one of those times. I really wish I could spend more time walking around with the camera, but the past few months have been so hectic with work and family. Hopefully with the longer days coming then I'll be able to get more time!

Thanks again.

Pete
