hopsage 0 Posted July 23, 2007 I don't think it's possible to shoot anywhere in this valley without some element of derivation. Still, this is a really nice composition, especially in the way the three trees form such a strong perspective line. I'd love to see that middle tree stand out a little more, but I don't have an idea how to do this. Perhaps if you lightened the dark areas on the right and in the background behind the middle and right-hand trees? Link to comment
aslavihervuori 0 Posted July 24, 2007 Well... THE photograph that has most affected my photography is perhaps "Monolith, Face of Half Dome". This is not nearly as good as it is, but then Adams lived there, at least summers, and saw very many places. Now, if you were on holiday, this photo is very well seen, indeed. I think this is very good attempt. Landscape wide enough, foreground interests breaking some rules (and making this look fresh). Yep, very good. No ratings, since I do not them anymore, a s l a Link to comment
sallycd 0 Posted August 24, 2007 I thought I recognized this scene,Nicholas. I just went last May for the first time. That winding road made me sick coming down from their. sally Link to comment
pjmeade 12 Posted September 14, 2007 I havent been around PN too much recently, so this is the first time I've seen this. It's one of the places I want to go, I'm envious. This is an interesting view of Half Dome, not the usual one. See any bears? Link to comment
deb1 0 Posted January 14, 2008 Nicholas, this is BEAUTIFUL! I'm trying to master black and white but never seem to be able to find anything worth shooting in black and white. You certainly found something perfect. Great capture. deb Link to comment
sallycd 0 Posted August 19, 2008 You must have composed this from above. I was there last July. My half Dome was from ground level. Kind regards, Sally Link to comment
