rickaj1995 0 Posted July 22, 2007 Gordon, I have just recently looked at your pics and I think you have a good eye. Like every other portfolio posted here some are great some are ok but overall they are beautiful shots, especially the wildlife ones. This picture in particular where it is not an original shot is still a good shot. Sunflowers have a lot of character and you have captured that well. Even the camera shy ones that are closed up. Like I assume you do, I don't believe I have ever seen a picture here that warrants 3/3, To me a 3/3 is a picture that is the throw away you delete when you don't get what you want on the first shot and immediately delete from the camera. No matter what keep shooting and sharing. Cheers, Rick III. Link to comment
sonneland 0 Posted July 23, 2007 To me personally, this is a much improved image, I am not keen on adding bits and pieces to images just to try and make them more intersting. I don't think you should be to disapointed with your ratings on this image, it is a nice image, but to be honest with you I can't see anything that marks it as special. The ratings here are a bit of a joke anyway, I dont take them seriously and I think some people take them too seriously. Link to comment
gulfbeach47 0 Posted July 25, 2007 Gordon Yes this is better. Regarding 3/3-notice they are always from anonymous people. I found my first sunflower field about 2 weeks ago. They were past the brilliant yellow stage but it was fun. They were a large variety averaging 5 or 6 ft and big as my head. I just entered a contest that i won best of Show in 2 years ago. I didn't even win a ribbon this year but the Best of Show this year was a sunflower pix. Odd but very nice. It was taken from behind the flower but the lighting really worked. I will post the link once they put the winners up if i remember. By the way, thanx about my portfolio. You have some wonderful photos yourself. The flowers and nature are awesome! ps. Did you get buzzed by any bees while you were out in the field? :) John Link to comment
