petemillis 0 Posted July 19, 2007 I thought long and hard about going BW on this, but the colours kind of caught my eye so decided to go colour on it. I also thought about cropping the photo but felt that the sense of location would be lost too much - i.e. manly type blokes wouldn't feel comfortable massaging each other in private, let alone in the street.... petemillis 0 Posted July 19, 2007 Hi Mikhai - no problem. But I'd be really grateful for some more comment. Is it that you just don't see anything there, or is it to do with composition/subject or whatever. All help is much appreciated. Link to comment
mihai suciu 0 Posted July 20, 2007 Pete - I don't see a "search" for composition here. Everything's in the picture: the car on the lower right corner obviously distracts. I know you can't do anything about it, but the iron fence, again, distracts the eye. The guy on the left hand side doesn't express anything - he's just passing by, but still, if you've shifted vertically and zoomed in on the guys you're interested in, so that you could catch an expression or a look it might've been somewhat better. This way I think you have too many things going on and too many subjects that eventually distract the viewer. Again, this is just an opinion, and sorry if in any way I offended you - I hope not - we all are here with a reason... Regards, Mihai. Link to comment
petemillis 0 Posted July 20, 2007 Many thanks Mikhail - I'm definitely not offended and really appreciate your comments. I toyed with the idea of cropping to try and get the image I had in my mind, but then it lost all sense of place. I suppose I was hoping to improve on a bad shot which was difficult to take at the time. I agree there's perhaps too much going on in the picture, and there was certinaly too much going on when I took it! Thanks again for your valuable input. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 20, 2007 How about this version. I cropped it a little tighter to get rid of the red vehicle. Link to comment
