david yama 0 Posted June 16, 2002 Great story going on here. I only wish the water wasn't so washed out. Link to comment
jerrymat 5 Posted June 16, 2002 It was quite on purpose. By grossly overexposing the water, it vanishes, leaving just the human and canine figures, isolated from everything else. Sorry you don't like it. Link to comment
pete sherman 0 Posted September 22, 2003 hi jerry, i am with you on the water issue. i like it's washed out dissolve into nearly nothing. nearly, because of the slight texture in the bottom right.... that gives us just enough of the story to fill in the remaining ('washed out') texture elsewhere. this, as you say, brings out the story of the two ... a lovely story many of us know and appreciate. I have mixed feelings about the superimposed faces: on the one hand they are close and connected (figuritively and literally). one the other hand, they are blocking (but not with the faces... just the heads). so, mixed on that. in the final analysis... i really like this shot and find it visually very satisfying. the distracting vegetation on the left lower border lessen a bit an otherwise very clean photo. Great job. thanks, pete Link to comment
