gpd 0 Posted June 20, 2002 A lovely image. The lighting is beautifully soft, with some light and shade, and the composition is excellent & original. I was directed to your image from a critique of my "Australian Tree Ferns, Trebah Gardens, Cornwall". Nice to see a picture of them back over in Australia (like them, I suppose, I am also an Australian in the UK, although that wasn't my reason for choosing the image for upload). Link to comment
gus_j_grubba 0 Posted July 9, 2002 I love the softness, the texture, and the infused light. I may have an issue with the rigid symmetry of an inherently chaotic image but that is based on my taste and it does not in any way invalidate your picture. What I dont understand is this rating system that makes this otherwise superb image comparable to thoughtless snapshots taken with $50 digital cameras. Link to comment
mike_klemmer 0 Posted September 20, 2002 Here is an image that demands to be viewed as a 14 inch print. Truly outstanding work. Link to comment
vuyisich 0 Posted December 27, 2002 This is fantastic. It is a shame that this is not in color. I would LOVE to see it in color! Link to comment
mclaine 0 Posted December 29, 2002 Think green. Green trees, green ferns, green moss on the rocks. Green. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted February 15, 2003 Thanks for the inspiration John. I've discovered a spot similar to this 5 minutes from my home, and it's proved a challenge to produce a decent shot. It is either too dark, or the sun creates hot spots on the water. Having seen this folder, I'm determined to return again and again until I get it right. Any advice is much appreciated. mclaine 0 Posted February 15, 2003 That's an interesting project Hanna. Try it in flat light, overcast. And please do post any works in progress! Link to comment
andrew_gronow1 0 Posted February 16, 2003 Stunning! I can visualize this in colour, but prefer it in mono! Inspirational. Andrew. Link to comment
vicki_huynh 0 Posted February 18, 2003 Great thoughts to accompany a great piece. I can't even visualize a piece this good on the hikes I've been on. Not sure if it's the places, the timing, or just me. The composition of this piece is not as dynamic as that seen in your St. Columbia Creek piece, but the tonal range is better, I think. At some point, this dependence starts to border on addiction, at least for me. Thanks for helping to fuel the addiction. Link to comment

dave_nitsche 0 Posted February 14, 2004 Another shot that brings thoughts of Clyde to mind. When I say that I mean more of a feel than a copy. Wonderful tones, great perspective and almost etherial like in quality. Tons of fun. Link to comment
