lbattjes 0 Posted July 13, 2007 Rats, I was thinking the Karate Kid...well done, Grasshopper! :) I remember seeing Old Yeller and crying my eyes out, but that's about it. I don't remember grasshoppers. Refresh my memory, Dennis! Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted July 13, 2007 Just a befriended old yellow dog that saved Travis' life but was mauled/killed by a grizzley.... The other shot of this Katydid I named it Ol' Yeller.... So, with my movie titles limited to classics like Blazing Saddles, Airplane, True Grit...maybe a couple of others... I was grasping at straws!!!!! Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted July 13, 2007 Grasping is an understatement!!!! Gawd!!!! You could have at least taken a picture of a dawg! hahahahaha - Old Yeller! Link to comment

anthonyd 0 Posted July 13, 2007 No boy becomes a man until he shoots his own dog! LESLIE: "Grasshopper" is from "Kung Fu" not "Karate Kid" therefore your new name is "Ass-Hopper"! Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted July 13, 2007 LOL Antoni-ass....I'm pretty sure I remember them saying it in Karate Kid, too....but you couldn't pay me to watch that again to find out! ;-p Anyone out there that can back me up on this one? mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 13, 2007 Beginning of the End Is a 1957 science fiction film starring Peter Graves and Peggie Castle. In it, gigantic grasshoppers created at the Illinois State Experimental Farm attack Chicago. The film was featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000. I had NIGHMARES all last night!! Gigantic Grasshoppers were eating my toes!! OH NO!!!! HA HA HA!!! Link to comment
JohnMWright 1 Posted July 13, 2007 I have a saddle... but I like it too much to set it on fire. For that one... need a campfire and a pot of beans! Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 13, 2007 OR better yet a TOY saddle from the toy store and set IT on fire... YEP! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 13, 2007 You really do so well with these insect shots. Your focus, sense of color combinations, the mutedness and transparency of the lighting, even the slope of the ground compositionwise is great. This is a really good photo. Link to comment
dennis jones 0 Posted July 13, 2007 this was one of the toughest insects I've photographed due to the lack of detail and color. I has the neatest apple looking eyes... Link to comment
mixmasta 0 Posted July 14, 2007 Ol' Yeller....I would have never guessed that! Well done! I finally have chosen my Project shot of the week, take a look a tell me what you think! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 14, 2007 Ol' Yeller... I should have known knowing you... lol. Me and hubby have been trying to figure this one out for a while now. Nice details :) Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 14, 2007 I spent a half an hour chasing a silly BEE with my husbands camera and all I got were fuzzy pictures of a BEE. SO, I will say this. I am now enthralled with what you guys do. The skill is just tremendous. AND... a moving object no doubt is not an easy task!!! I did just notice that he is missing an antenna. That kind of detail is truly just remarkable! Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted July 14, 2007 Les, If I ever see the Karate Kid in the video store, I will watch it just for you and see what I can do Ass-Hopper. hahahaha Not to worry - I have it in writing from Antoni-ass himself that he has no brain. Link to comment

Jebamony 3 Posted July 16, 2007 Dennis: I am way too late to guess, but don't know movie either. If I were to guees, I'd have said "Bugs Life" [like Kellen]. On the assignment: Not bad at all, but not as great as your shattered. Sorry I didn't get a chance to comment on your work last week. I expected more this time around, I guess. On the Shot: Good macro. Nice details and over all a good composition. I wish you didn't have to cut off his[her] leg. J3 Link to comment
