ronald_capasso 0 Posted July 12, 2007 The town of Bodie was abandoned in the 1930s, after the gold ran out and a fire destroyed most of the buildings. It remains in a state of arrested decay. I was fortunate enough to visit on a high snow year, and the only way to get there was ski in 14 miles from Mono Lake. My companions and I were the only people there , which gave us a feel for what a real ghost town is like. Link to comment
