ronald_capasso 0 Posted July 11, 2007 I spotted this lone tree the night before I made camp in Buttermilk country. I thought it would make a good subject, with Basin Mountain as a backdrop, come early morning. A snow fell that night and as the brief storm broke there was some interesting light. eduardocarrasco 0 Posted July 11, 2007 wonderful shot, but maybe the tree is to much in the center... congratulations beatiful shot Link to comment
ronald_capasso 0 Posted July 11, 2007 I thought about tree being offset but this time I wanted to break some rules on composition and see if it worked or not. Panoramics, I feel, lend themselves to parting from tradition in that regard... we are not used to seeing this aspect ratio often. Thanks for feed back Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted July 11, 2007 I like the tree, it is the focal point of the image; and in something as broad as this it actually helps start the eye in moving around the composition. Great layers in this too. Wonderful light. This scene reminds me a lot of Mt. Kenya or Kilamanjaro in Africa. That's what's so cool about the eastern Sierra - valley floor deserts to big time peaks, all in a few miles. Nice work, Ron. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
