It was shot on a Nikon D70s, which is totally the wrong camera for the

job, and no tripod. I had a devil of a job getting the lens to slide

up. Also, it is far too small. I have squashed it down as far as I can

go, but even the original digital camera image has far more detail.

Imagine what it would be like shot on 5x4.

Then, shoot it with a 4x5. You have the answer yourself. The image as is is a bit blurred and too compressed. Such a majestic scene deserves better treatment. JMHO.

Hi Emmanuel.

 

I have just persuaded my wife that we ought to return to Malta. I think that I have enough baggage allowance to carry a 5x4 outfit as well. The main problem is going to be the floor. They are elaborate marble tombstones, so I have to persuade the Cathedral authorities that I can use my tripod. Perhaps I might have to fit it with felt bootees. If that works, watch this space next July.
