mjamesm 0 Posted July 8, 2007 Nice shot jeff. it has a surreal feel to it that i can't quite put my finger on. Link to comment
olafdevries 0 Posted July 8, 2007 Time, so the angle of the light very well choosen..!! That "softness" of the wood! Otherwise such a "bridge" is just a heavy dark mission impossible!! Congrats! Link to comment
snapshooter 0 Posted July 8, 2007 Beautiful lighting and composition, Jeff. High impact. One distraction, and quite hard to spot while shooting ... the left handrail merges with the cloud bank border. Easy to spot just looking at the right hand rail, to see the difference in effect. It's only the merger that distracts. If that rail had penetrated the cloud bank it wouldn't have two horizontal lines emerging from the end face, but be surrounded by cloud. If you're lucky enough to spot something like this when shooting, it just takes a fraction of an inch difference in camera angle. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted July 8, 2007 I just don't know how you do it on such a continual basis, your compositional sense is so damn strong. The wooden bridge with its angular shadows dominating the frame, the line of distant clouds serving as the ideal backdrop and finally the soft, almost subdued color adding a quietly whistful note to the scene; it's just a wonderful picture. bartimeus1 0 Posted July 8, 2007 Once again, ordinary subject and evening light, yet the final result is way more interesting - I dare to say, captivating, than the basic ingredients! This is so enjoyable vision of a moment. Painted by light and captured&composed by you! Awesome! Alpo Link to comment
hy 0 Posted July 9, 2007 These impressions are the reason why I hate my place (sometimes). Really beautiful atmosphere this place transfers. Greatly done. Best regards Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted July 9, 2007 Matthew: The light was surreal, very pink. Pure luck. Antanas: Thanks. Not as creative as your stuff, I'm afraid. Olaf: You?re right. This bridge is a bit heavy, clunky, and gray most of the day. The light transformed it. Doug: I always miss something, and it's good to have quality control. As I said in my bio, I'm patience-challenged. I should have positioned myself better so this would be less of a snapshot. Jack: Geez. I never know what to say except thanks while digging my toe in the dirt. Hasan: I'm lucky to have access to this place. It is truly magical at times. Matthias: I appreciate the thoughts. I'm glad I found your photos, which have inspired some new ideas. Link to comment

atanu_ghosh1 0 Posted July 9, 2007 Excellent composition and light...I would have preferred if the shot was taken little from the left so that the bridge would have led diagonally into the clouds... Link to comment
