Well, you sort of can. It is the blue glow emanating from between the condo buildings. With all the new construction you can only really see the Skydome in a waterfront skyline either from the Islands or from somewhere to the east (like near Cherry St.). Or you can get most of it looking east along the rail lines from Strachan or thereabouts.

Ian,

This is a great capture. You have nailed the timing perfectly. Where exactly has this been shot from? The details said Humber Estuaries Park, not too sure where exactly that is. Would love to see more of your work. Keep it up!

Thank you Vinu for your interest.

Humber Estuaries Park is at the foot of Park Lawn at Lakeshore Blvd.

There are two parks one straight south from Park lawn and one slightly to the West. The western part is itself divided into two main parts with a boat-launch area and a long spit that goes back into the Lake and shelters the neighbouring Marina. This is from the very end of that spit (near a red beacon/light'house').

As for the timing: yeah, I waited a very long time for a series of fireworks tall enough to balance the city. Of about 25 frames of the city and fireworks, there were only three with tall enough fireworks and of those one was severely overexposed (because it was the final volley and they doubled the number they were letting off -- the area of the fireworks is a pure white blob!). The other shot I which I like is in my portfolio.

Excellent It is a great wide angle shot with no distortions and great focus. Certainly, the firework balances the top of the needle in the city.
