david_cort_s 0 Posted June 12, 2002 In the XIIth century, Toledo was one the main site from which Renaissance developped. Mainly because of the coexistence of the three religions, who accepted to live together, and exchange their respective knowledge. One of the main facts is that the original greek texts of the golden century were translated again in latin there. I wanted this shot to be symbolic : right at the ancient entrance to the medieval city, you have to cross a gothico-arabic gate, whose first arches can be seen in the picture. The bridge was constructed in a melting cultures atmosphere too. And finally, the very first sight you catch from this legendary city is one of its catholic churches... I love this city, mainly for everything it represents, and hence leads you to understand of european history... a lot more strongly linked with Africa and other parts of the world than what is generally taught in our schools... miguelangelhoyas 0 Posted July 1, 2002 Esta imagen gana con el recorte que haces respecto a la versión completa, sin embargo, está bastante más oscura. You should know that there is a further compression on the site that removes a lot of details to any picture you upload. I wish it were sharper, but the original is a lot better... Link to comment
