Glenwood Springs wildfire

DB_Gallery

Pine trees are dwarfed by flames that lept over a hundred feet in the air after a wild fire consumes the dry vegetation. Several homes and buisnesses were lost in the fire that is still out of control. Nikon F-5, 400 2.8 w/tc-14c converter making it a 540mm. Fuji 400 color negative, full frame.

Looks like a sun proturberance (I'm not sure about the spelling). Great job! Congrats on publishing your work.

Hey, your back, just in time too!

I'd really like to see your images from that fire. I've been covering hayman but becaus of my schedule I am only able to go down there 1 day a week plus the USFS makes it incredibly difficult to get anything different than everyone else, I'm still waiting to get a decent shot but I don't think I will be, next fire maybe. Great shots.

Wow.. Great shot. Maybe it's just me, but I think it looks like a fireman. Was it doctored in anyway to get that appearance for the publication or am I just seeing the "Snoopy in the clouds" effect?

"Doctoring" is strictly taboo in my Journalism book. These were simply HUGE flames and occured at twilight, hence the strange blue cast in the sky.
