shacknav 0 Posted July 5, 2007 The BBMF Lancaster in it's brand new livery set against a summery sky. Composite of Duxford airshow photo and local sky-scape. Your comments appreciated. Link to comment
k5083 1 Posted July 6, 2007 So to get a pic of an airplane against a sunny sky, in the UK, you have to use special effects techniques? Alas; well, I hope you have good weather at Duxford this weekend and can get a few "straight" pictures. Anyway this is well done. There is a bit of compression effect from using a long lens evident in the Lancaster which creates an inconsistency with the cloudscape obviously shot with a longer lens, but the angle you chose for the Lanc minimizes this as much as possible. The fact that the clouds were shot with a shorter lens gives the picture a degree of depth that is impossible to obtain in "straight" ground to air shots. Link to comment
shacknav 0 Posted August 8, 2007 August - valid comment, as usual, re the varying DOF etc. Tried 'fuzzing' the clouds a bit and it looked worse, however I quite like it even if it is a bit 'chocolate boxy'. My apologies for not responding sooner to your considered critique - been away for a bit and busy with relatives. Thanks as always..........Pat. Link to comment
