Perfect job, Jeff! This is an excellent capture in every way.

I would love to rate 7/7, but PN... I'll change, as soon as I can. Best regards - Hasan

You did about as good of a job as you could have in that light. The overcast skies have taken some of the color out of this scene that might otherwise be there, but the dramatic skies look nice. I would be interested in seeing this in a black and white conversion.

Beautiful shot Jeff. You captured the color of the water, the light and the blue sky on the horizon very well. Nice job.

such a perfect composition, so well balanced. Love the esmerald green of the sea and the light blue of the sky in the right. Don't understand why PN does not let me rate with 7/7, is so frustrating:(((

Done:) but from the landscape category:)

Another perfectly composed picture. Lights and shadows are very well balanced too and give the image an highly realistic and dramatic feature. A good job indeed, Jeff!

This is what you call making the best of a situation! Terrific composition and exposure control! Very nicely done! I think I am going to be visiting this spot this fall (taking notes :-D).

This is one of those photos that make me want to travel to the shooting location, just to get to see it in live. This has all the elements in right position and in right exposure. Very fine, indeed!

With best regards,

Alpo

The colors are as delicately arranged as those of a master oil painter. It's a beautiful seascape but more importantly it establishes mood through an artful blend of color and tones and a dead-on sense of composition..

I can hear the Beach Boys singing 'California' even though there is no surfing going on here. I feel a little bit of the soul or spirit of California when I look at this. It is lovely. The turquoise blue of the ocean is beautiful. Did you have to bring that up in Photoshop?

Linda, This was the actual color of the water. I had to brighten it a tiny bit, but I didn't alter the color at all.

Beautiful seascape, Jeff. Like the heavy but soft sky as a balance for the ruggedness of the sea rocks and coast.

I see you snuck back into the Golden State. Next time you do, give me a ring, let's have lunch. I'm only about an hour away. Drop by the City, will ya. This, as the others have said, is a fine landscape.

Emmanuel, Unfortunately, I didn't sneak back in. This was a shot I took during our last trip to CA when Gabi was 6 months old. Deb and I talk about how much we regret moving away at least on a weekly basis. I pulled this shot out of the archives because I was California Dreaming. If and when we visit, I'll absolutely let you know.

Dream on, buddy. Last time I was in New England was in February, 2003. I remember that well because it was soooo cold, walking down the street was a problem. Amazing how time flies. I remember watching a news report about a senator and wondering who he was and how odd he looked. The day I was set to leave was February 18. It was the day the highest single day snowfall in the history of Boson occurred. I remember that because I was snowed out of three airports in three New England states and had to cancel my travel plans. Boy, did I have a long face! That senator? Well, some guy known as John Kerry, who, as you know, was born with one.

This part of the coast is about my favorite because it always feels so untamed and wild. You really got some great light here and the movement in the water, which I'm so glad you didn't blur as seems to be the big rage nowadays. It looks so true here. Funny that emmanuel mentions the record snowfall. After having moved to San Francisco in 1975, I left for Boston to go to grad school for a year and was there for I believe it was the winter of '78. We had two major snowstorms that shut down the city, one was 28 inches. Had to walk from Dorchester where I lived to a friend's house in Copley Square because I had run out of heating oil and we lost electricity as well. Was actually fun, but after my car got destroyed by a snow plow and a summer that was even more uncomfortably hot than the winter was cold, I knew I had left the only place in the country I wanted to live and came running back here and never considered leaving again!
