jonathancharlesphoto 0 Posted July 2, 2007 Some people dismiss sunsets as too obvious but there is a special peaceful atmosphere of the moment that you have captured perfectly. It would be a tragedy NOT to record that beautiful light. For me, the ideal composition would require him (and you) to walk 30M along to the right but I guess the spontaneity of the scene is more important. Best wishes Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted July 2, 2007 I know what you mean about the dismissal of sunsets and sunrises for that matter, this one however had beautiful colours the photo actually does not do it any justice..... Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 280 Posted July 28, 2007 I think you didn't miss to adjust it a "bit" neither, ha! Which I honestly don't approve! Of course, it isn't the point on the word and the act of "adjusting"! It wouldn't be appropriate for ME to remark on "adjusting", ha! I mean the flame on the skies which can't be real! I would like it much more if it was just black and white! However, I keep avoiding sun in my pictures! Ha, an interesting thing happened last morning, I saw a pure red sun near the chimney of some factory, whatever! And I decided to try what I critique most, red skies and suns! Guess what happened - the sun was white on my photo! But I hate it anyway! PDE Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted July 29, 2007 THIS IS NOT AN ILLUSTRATIVE PICTURE. Only an illustrative photo is factual-true to the subject. In a factual photo one documents the subject according to the agreed upon reality. There is a definite difference between fact and feeling. Feeling is personal and subjective, to try to convey thoughts and feelings pictorially is difficult, for the photographer must be able to capture these concepts and he must be an artist to do this. IF he succeeds the subject will be shown in a new way and those who see his pictures will be given a new insight and an unexpected visual experience. This is an interpretative picture. I am very glad I did not miss that paricular sunset...-:) You obviously are not and you are free to do so. Link to comment
