Just a quick post to answer yours. Thank you very much for sharing your view. I completely agree with you about a photo having its own life, and it may not have the life we wished for it as most children don;t live the life their parents wished for them. But then that is the interesting part of it.

I also agree very much with you about the numbers. They don't mean anything at all, but for me if people take the time to give me some rates, I'll try to give 2 rates for any rate I receive. And I will only rate photo which I think are 5 or above and never anonymously. If a thumbnail makes me click but the photo is not what I expected, I'll share my modest opinion.

Actually my first and biggest motivation to share my photos here were the possibilities to discover great photographers and have some exchange of views and knowledge, but mostly for me to have feedback and learn. Actually to be honest the photos in my portfolio which I personnaly find the most original ( but i may be wrong ) are the ones receiveing the poorest ratings :-)

As fro well written comments : I try to do my best, but english not beeing my mothertongue, I hope my comments are understood, and that's why I'm trying to track them as much as possible :-)

thank you for your time and your help

I love this one, too, Pnina. This entire folder is one of the most powerful pieces of work that you have done, I believe.

She looks young, vulnerable, and a bit dead (except for the little bit of open eyes) like the Brothers Grimm's duped Snow White, in their moralizing fairy/folktale, after she was tricked into biting the apple. The grey tones help create a solemn mood while the light on her subtly emphasizes her innocence, as does the crop of her vulnerable body juxtaposed by his manly, hairy legs. While red in Western culture is the color of passion--blood, this apple is the color of gold, a very strong symbol when one thinks of what it does to society. This series is stunning.

Donna, thanks for your interesting analogy to the Grimms brothers, classical " Snow white", which their stories, and this one especially are part of what we already talked about of classical heritage, that conscious or not are another layer in later creations.

Interesting as well is your interpretation of the apples color.!

Really appreciate both of your comments.

Lannie I have answered you in your comment on "Destiny"...
