toddlaffler 0 Posted June 19, 2007 Edward, this has a REALLY 70's feel to it for some reason. Was that intentional? I think it's the lighting and coloring of the skin, maybe it's too red? The cropping seems awkward to me, the hands especially. I also don't care for ther making eye contact with someone out of frame. It takes me out of the photo too. I suppose it's fine as a documentary type shot of who was there. My two pennies anyway. :) Todd Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 7, 2007 I saw a weird feel to this too- (other than the clothing and hair and drapes...lol) I know its hard to pose a little girl, and have the parent/adult to look the nicest while trying to get the kids looking the same - a hard task when they are young and not wanting photos--- BUT - I agree - this color is off. The skin tone is to flat, no definition - maybe it because of the posting - i don't know - I assume you have Adobe, right? What flash do you use? I have a Fuji s9100 - I wanted the s5, but couldn't afford it- I love my camera - and the ease to use is wonderful! I am sure you agree! Link to comment
ned1 0 Posted August 7, 2007 OK, since people are asking about this, here's what I was trying to do. I was going for a reverse Maddona and child: long-haired father as the virgin Mary, flower girl in royal colors as the christ child looking heavenwards. Pose pretty much straight out of Giotto. Then for irony a 70s studio look (goes with the hair) but also trying to get the colors as close as I could to 13th century fresco colors. An idea that I just didn't quite convey well enough, and maybe was not worth conveying. And yes this was all going through my head when I posed them. I'm always thinking screwy ideas like that during formals. Oh well. I like it... Link to comment
laura2 0 Posted October 30, 2009 This picture involuntarily makes me chuckle. I like it. Please edit out the glass lamp shade behind the subjects. It's annoying me! :) Link to comment
