rapo 0 Posted June 16, 2007 Lloyd, it's their father hand, in a gesture of protection, or blessing,I can't tell you exactly, but a gesture of love, no doubt. Ruben, I don't see it like that. This handfull of people live in a tiny encampment, far away from the rest of the world. They're poor, they have no money, they use old blankets, but they have cattle enough to get the food they need, and most of all, they're very proud. Proud of their history, proud of their children, proud of the way they live. I think that if you ask them what they would do with some money, they would answer "buy some more camels", or give some education to their children, or dig a better well. But they wouldn't change their life for yours or mine. And the real drama is that our way of life threatens theirs... Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 16, 2007 I see the hand as protective and loving. I think the hand could be symbolic of the father or adult blessing these sweet children. Their eyes and expressions are wonderful. The figure in the background gives me a feeling of community and/or family. I think it tells a deep and wonderful story quite simply and easily, with little special effects and much heart and soul. Link to comment
