danstan 0 Posted June 15, 2007 Marvelous BW image. The contrast, the lines and perspective, make a really superb shot. Link to comment
andresainderichin 0 Posted June 15, 2007 Hi Dan, Who needs color? I love this! The composition is perfect: 2/3 - 4/5. Gorgeous shadows, detailed highlights... One little thing, maybe, but this could be due to the digital process of getting an image on a screen: the highlight directly on the left of the man is a bit shrill. GREAT STUFF! danbliss 0 Posted June 15, 2007 Thank you everyone for your comments. They are greatly appreciated. Andre, as far as the bright spot by the figure, it is definitely the hot spot on the image. If you look at the larger version, you'll notice that there is a little structure to it, so it is not completely blown out, but still... I thought about trying to darken it, but I also thought it helped draw attention to the person. Maybe I got it wrong. If I rework it, I'll try to darken that area a bit. In any case, your comments are very much appreciated. Thanks again everyone. Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted June 16, 2007 Dan, another beautiful piece and this time in B&W. I'm curious how this looked in color...some of the same colors/tones as the others? Lovely architecture...you've presented it well. Leslie Link to comment

jannabin 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Wooowww wonderfull image!! I love the repeating arc and windows. Nice atmosphere, subtle shades. What else can I say ... lovely!!! Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted June 25, 2007 Leslie, the funny thing about the color version is that I think it is kind of boring. It is sort of a dull beige. In the black and white version I was able to bring out the texture, which I thought was interesting. Thank you again everyone for the comments. They are appreciated greatly. Link to comment
ingermargrete 0 Posted August 5, 2007 Really beautiful perspective and composition and great B/W work. I like the person in the far end. Link to comment
antoniobassiphotography 0 Posted August 16, 2007 Can somebody get me a Canon 5D please???!!! Incredible midtones, even though the image has been reduced in size I can see every little detail of the wall and the ground. Beautiful composition, you didn't cut the window or the arch on top and you placed them at an ideal distance from the edge of the photo. The eye is attracted like a magnet to the man at the end.
