Beautiful image. It is darker than I probably would have printed it, but I think I would have been wrong, because it works really well like this. Nicely done.

Dan, I was hoping for a comment about that. This end result is dark but I was trying for some emphasis, perhaps overly so. Thanks.

I agree about the darkness, but the way the light areas show here and there, balanced with the light in the sky makes it very appealing to look at.

If there was something that appears to me even more guessful than an arguable exposure, is the mist. More likely, almost total absence of the entire skyline itself - it gets washed out smoothly.

Since this is IR, you probably used a long exposure. I would like to know whether you used any soft focus / diffused lighting techniques... or it actually was that much doggy over there?

Thank you, Alibek

Alibek, thank you for visiting my photo. Because this is infrared, the exposure time was quite long, more than one minute. I like this type of exposure because of the strong light-and-dark contrasts. To increase this effect, I adjusted levels in PS, and I multiplied a layer. I hope that this answers your question.

Thank you for sharing cooking secrets. After all I estimated it at 6/6. Great job.

Hello Kurt,

This IR image is really beautiful! I love the capturing of time with the movement of the water. Do you live on the west coast? I live on the east coast. Cheers!

Kerry, thank you. This was my first trip to Oregon but I live on the central coast of California. Oregon is definitely beautiful. I need a trip to the east coast perhaps this fall.

Hi Kurt,

It's been some time since I logged in photonet as I was taking a break from the virtual world in the real one. I passed by your site to see how you are doing. I see that you are moving towards "darker" themes. To be honest I like both moods equally but this one in particular. Very nice!!!

I enjoy black-and-white because you can achieve some real drama. I don't know about "darker themes" but I am interested in trying new things. Not all of my experiments are successful, however! Thank you for visiting, my friend.
