big lens productions 0 Posted June 19, 2007 Besides his rank in the US Navy durring WWII Dad was the ships photographer. This is a shot taken of him in 1943. The photos on the wall was his 1st wife. Go Dad! Scan of a B&W 8X10 @ 600DPI, dust and scratches cleanup and a little sepia added. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted June 19, 2007 Robert, over the past few weeks I believe that I've seen a few of these scans come through and each of them is a treasure! I am really glad that you are doing this. Losing these images of such an incredible era in US history would be nearly a crime. I really can appreciate each one of these too, being a veteran of the Coast Guard (almost the Navy, LOL). Your Dad has a real Hemingwayesque pose here. Great job, and keep it up. Cheers! big lens productions 0 Posted June 19, 2007 Chris, Thanks for the comments. I agree. I have had these negitives for many years and am in the process of restoring them. I plan to post as many as possible. It's good to see this kind appreciation for an era that paved the way for the freedoms we enjoy today. Thanks again, Robert, Link to comment
