This is the rare Bermudian rope snake :). When I first saw this in

the road ahead of me I really did think it was a snake.

Elusive little buggers aren't they? I've seen a few here in VA and I tell you I almost crashed trying not to hit it. Of course the more common cousin the "Bungee Boa" is more likely to be in the road here. Cheers, Rick, III

In the Southeastern U.S. we have the very dangerous coppercottedtrattlemoccasins (copper-cotted-rattle-moccasins) which are a unique mixed breed of copperheads-cottonmouths-rattlesnake-moccasins).Which means, "If I see a snake, it has to be poisonous regardless of whether it can be properly identified or not!"
