ken_james 0 Posted June 11, 2007 When I was exhibiting my paintings, I found a photography book called Women by Annie Leibovitz...there was a photo of Eudora Welty (US author) that really inspired me (the whole book was interesting because the women were not photographed to necessarily look good...very refreshing)...and I painted it, changing the face a bit, but keeping the feeling...old ladies are not hot sellers, but this one did. danstan 0 Posted June 11, 2007 A magnificent painting, you are very good artist. Is this an oil or acrylic painting? Link to comment
ken_james 0 Posted June 11, 2007 Hey Daniel: Acrylic...never got into oils...had good solo shows (last one had a 6 piece orchestra type band) - but I got tired of going further and further into debt...I wasn't commercial enough...I've been doing some abstracts for myself...painting is much more enjoyable when you do it for myself...just like photography...Good to hear from you. ken Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted June 13, 2007 Extremely impressive Ken. My first love is painting, but with two kids, no time, and no space, photography seems to be like "methadone treatment," so to speak. I was never this good. Very powerful portrait! Link to comment

plottphoto 0 Posted December 31, 2009 This is fantastic... I live in Jackson MS which is the home of Eudora Welty. I've been to her home and I've seen a quite a few painted pictures of her. This is by far the best one I've ever seen. Congrats Link to comment
