awareness 0 Posted June 9, 2007 Hi Olaf This photo completely blows me away. I wish that most people on this site that do nudes could do half as good as this. This is art and shows the true beauty of a human being. I look forward to other postings from your "big" project. I think the time spent on the project will be more than worthwhile if this is a sample of what is to come. One very, very small thing that might just be me but I feel there is just a tiny bit too much space from the top of the models hair to the top of the photo. I would be inclined to cut off the 1/2" or so at the top where it is completely black. It is not so much the black, which I find appealing in the corners and the top but the shear amount of space occupied by the top third of the shot. What are your thoughts and reasons for that anount of space. All the best. Link to comment
joshida 0 Posted June 9, 2007 Very beautiful, and well done. Nice lighting and tones. Classic feel. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted June 9, 2007 "Class" is the word I think of when I look at this. It is quite elegant. I would like to see a little more space left of the feet but really, I can't fault this. Link to comment
helga 0 Posted June 9, 2007 Very beautiful model, pose and lighting. Very, very artistic!!!......Helga Link to comment
tj rohyans 0 Posted June 9, 2007 your gallery so far, this is by far my favorite. The pose is simple, yet elegant, and the vine isn't distracting as it is in some of the others. I agree that there is too much unused space above the model and perhaps not enough to the left of her feet. I'm anxious to see more and learn. Link to comment
nicolerenee 0 Posted June 9, 2007 Very lovely, "classic" absolutely. Only too bad that the Ivy was plastic :) All the best Link to comment
sonneland 0 Posted June 9, 2007 Wonderful nude this one, would agree that there is too much space above her head. Well done!! Link to comment
awareness 0 Posted June 9, 2007 Just one other comment: I looked at all of your other vintage nudes and I agree with another posting, I like this one over all the others. What I found particularly interesting when viewing all of them at one time is the influence each model had on the final outcome. Since everything is held equal in each photo, including you the photographer, essentially it is left to the model to distinguish one photo from another. Though you deserve enourmous praise I think this particular model best suited the concept you undertook. Everything about her look and pose exudes beauty, grace and elegance. Please pass on my compliments to her. Link to comment
olofwessels 0 Posted June 9, 2007 Thank you all for the very nice comments on this picture and on the project itself. @ Allan, You're very right in saying that its all in the posing of the models, in fact that was the assignment given to them before the shoot: "think of a pose that is a reflection of yourself or a reflection of the way you think people see you" I have to agree with you that this is one of the shots that really was right on target in that aspect and its by far my personal favourite as well. @ Nicole, I'm not much of a green fingers guy, lol If I had used real ivy then I'd probably needed a new one for every shoot:))) Link to comment
nicolerenee 0 Posted June 9, 2007 Olof, i dont blame you! She probably wouldnt have been too comfortable either :) Link to comment
haleh b 0 Posted June 10, 2007 I actually like the negative space above her head since it is certainly making the composition stand out more. As for the pose, technique used to achieve this effect, sensuality, and the overall impact this is one memorable image. Link to comment
