Thanks, Chris. Although I've been shooting for awhile, I'm relatively new to the whole Photoshop experience (just learned about layers last week), and this particular image represents my first successful (I think) effort at digital color correction. The original transparency has a strong purplish cast on the playa. It's attractive on its own, but I wanted to bring the colors closer to my actual experience of them (4:45 am, mid-June, everything heating up fast).

p.s. I just took a look at your portfolio. You have some superb images there! I'm especially taken with the color Alabama Hills gallery. Hwy. 395 is very striking, too. (That road is just as interesting here in Oregon as it is down south.)
