Excellent! Looks like you have a lot of fun with your new lens. Great colours, composition, and DOF. Best regards from Tarnaby!

In the aesthetical point of view I prefer the other from yesterday. I think that this photo shows the same "problem" concerning the focus (see the right wing, for example), but that's perhaps a question of personal taste. You use flash? I feel that light is too strong. Only my opinion, nothing more. Best regards.

Thanks everyone,

Jose, I know what you mean about the blurred area in each pic, bees vibrate as they collect pollen which makes them a very difficult subject. I do use flash and this is hand held so maybe I need a tripod? Still very new to my macro lens so hope to improve :)

I already had said to you that I don't know anything about macro photography; perhaps I don't know anything about photography in general. And sometimes my english words are incorrect or imprecise. English is not my language (but I like very much the music that lives in english words!). I know that "..., bees vibrate as they collect pollen..." and I know that bees, and other insects, are a great challenge for photographers. So I invite you to see this site http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=544519 and, for example, this http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=709878. Concerning the light I see the bee body reflecting too much light; the bee body is shining, like the flowers and this "detail" is very unnatural, is very artificial. Considering the subject of your photo I think that unnatural, or artificial, things are not welcome. Please remember: I don't want to offend you! Best regards.

Sorry Jose I didn't mean to sound offended and I really do appreciate your help. Thanks so much , and what you have said makes perfect sense. This is what the site is all about :)
